MetaTrader 4 Tutorial

MetaTrader 4 (MT4), introduced by MetaQuotes in 2005, provides access to various markets, including Forex, Metals, Indices, Energies, and Crypto. MT4 is a free trading platform with various versions, including web, desktop, and mobile. MetaTrader 4 offers various tools to smooth your trading journey, including 30 built-in indicators (e.g., Fibonacci Retracement, Moving Averages, and Bollinger Bands), 9 timeframes (from 1-minute to monthly), and 24 analytical objects. Another standout feature of the MT4 platform is Automated Trading, which enables the use of Expert Advisors (EAs). The EA analyses market quotes and executes trades automatically. With support for the MQL4 programming language, MetaTrader 4 allows users to create custom scripts, indicators, and trading bots. The platform also provides a price alert system, enabling traders to mark important price levels and record optimal entry and exit points. One of MetaTrader 4's standout features is its advanced trade management capability. Users can set Stop Loss and Take Profit levels for each trading position. MT4 also keeps a trading history and analyzes this data to calculate and provide essential figures, such as Win Rate, helping users with their trading journals. Another MT4 capability is Copy Trading, which involves linking a strategy provider account to a follower account to replicate trades. MetaTrader 4 offers the performance criteria of money managers, and for a specified fee, users can utilize signals from their preferred trader.
