NinjaTrader Indicators

On the NinjaTrader platform, indicators are built on the NinjaScript programming framework and run exclusively within NinjaTrader, which ensures fast performance and full access to price and volume data. The platform includes more than 100 built-in indicators that can be added and edited through the “Indicators” window. Some indicators offered for free on Trading Finder (such as BuySellVolume, Volume Profile, and BuySellPressure) can be plotted on historical data only when Tick Replay is enabled; without this mode, they are active on real-time data only. A distinguishing feature of NinjaTrader is access to order-flow/volume-by-price level data. Indicators such as VolumeProfile provide a color-coded display of buy and sell volume by price in each area and show points of volume concentration (accumulation/distribution zones). In addition, developing custom indicators on the NinjaTrader trading platform is possible using patterns such as the state-change function (OnStateChange) and the bar-update function (OnBarUpdate). This enables calculations for each new price bar without using “future data.” Among NinjaTrader developers there is a library containing hundreds of add-ons and indicators created by companies that are not official members of the core software team, which can be used across various markets and strategies.
